about

A demo of "The Aftermath" by Fail Mary.
Originally released November 2015.

lyrics

"I'm ending my life," he announced to anyone who'd care
"I no longer see the light. It's hard to tell you're even there"
"I'm ending my life," he announced to everyone who saw
"In ending this strife, I knew you would just stare in awe"

"I'm ending my life," he announced to everyone who tried
To bring him down again and again until all he could do was cry
"They said they would try. They said they would try!"
And now all he can think of are the many ways he could die

"I'm ending my life," he announced
He's ending his life

"He's ending his life!" she cried to everyone around
"They've always been so unkind! Won't someone bring him down?"
He steps off the ledge—her arms, they are spread
And by the end, a miracle: only one was dead

Oh, no, no
